Position Description

The Department of Art and Design at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), offers three distinct B.A. degrees, one in Art, one in Art History and one in Design. We invite highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized applicants for a temporary pool of part-time teaching appointments in all three of these areas. This application is for Design instruction.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned upper division courses in the department’s curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

1. A Bachelor’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
2. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
3. Applicants must have experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

1. A Master’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.

Employment Requirement

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
