Job Overview
The role of this position is to oversee all aspects of audio and visual production. Responsibilities include managing sound and video systems, coordinating live broadcasts or recordings, and ensuring high-quality audiovisual experiences. The Director leads technical teams, handles equipment maintenance and setup, and collaborates with event planners, performers, and content creators to meet specific production needs. Additionally, they are responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, staying updated on new technology, and ensuring smooth execution of all audio and video elements.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for building and managing the audio-visual production team.
- Manage the technical components for all weekly and weekend services including sound, lights, and videos.
- Work in conjunction with the IT department to enhance network-based technologies for streaming.
- Responsible for the maintenance of all technical equipment.
- Plan, design, and install equipment upgrades and new equipment.
- Recruit, lead, and provide ongoing training and professional development of AV team members and volunteers.
- Ensure the recordings and/or broadcast of worship services, classes, and events as directed by leadership.
- Schedule AV Team for required worship services, classes, and events.
- Capture/edit and prep additional content required for service pre-recording.
- Create worship transition slides and lower thirds for Sunday services and events.
- Meet with Bishop and the Worship and Arts Director regularly to develop new initiatives for the ministry.
- Meet regularly with the creative team to plan services and events.
- Serve as the producer for Sunday worship services.
- Prepare and/or schedule team members to stage and prep equipment for weekly rehearsals and worship services.
- Partner with other ministries to assist with technical needs for their special events.
- Responsible for setting and tracking the annual AV ministry’s budget alongside the pastor or assigned person.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in audio-visual technology, broadcast engineering, film production, communications, multimedia, audio engineering, video production, media studies, or a related field required. Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) a plus.
- Four (4) years of experience working with AV equipment and production with experience in live events, broadcast, multimedia production, studio recordings, or a similar environment required.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience leading teams of AV technicians, camera operators, sound engineers, and other production staff is required.
- Proficiency in AV software for video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools), sound mixing, digital production tools, live streaming and broadcasting platforms.
- Experience managing complex AV projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Expert knowledge of audio and video production equipment, including microphones, cameras, lighting, soundboards, video switchers, mixers, and projection systems.
- Ability to direct and manage sound production, including balancing audio levels, sound mixing, and using sound processing equipment.
- Advanced skills in directing video shoots, including multi-camera setups, live streaming, recording, editing, and post-production techniques.
- Understanding of lighting systems and design principles, particularly for live events, theater productions, or broadcast studios.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively, ensuring seamless production during live events or recordings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with virtual and hybrid event technologies.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment, set up gear, and work in dynamic, sometimes physically demanding environments, especially during live events.
Salary Range
Part Time: $40K-$45K
Full Time: $60K
Work Schedule
- Part Time – less than 33 hours per week
- Full Time – 33 hours + per week
- 1st Sundays: 6:30 am - 5:00 pm
- 2nd & 3rd Sundays: 6:30 am - 2:30 pm
- 4th Sundays: 6:30 am - 2:30 pm + Prayer Service: 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
- Wednesday Bible Study Playback: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
- Monday – Thursday: TBD
- Saturdays: 9:00am - 1:00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
