Organize content at MDI, determine templates, gaps in communication, and content needed. Develop templates for promotional materials across programs (i.e., website, flyers, powerpoints, educational materials). Standardize fonts, colors, and branding. Gather photos and film from projects and initiatives and store them in a digital media folder for long-term promotional content. Initiate the development of our agro-ecotourism website. Gather photos and film of SEVA and the AulaHotel to be used for promotional content and informational purposes on the website. Summarize agroecology volunteer experiences and possible workshops that would accompany stay at the AulaHotel. Market our AulaHotel experience on social media to attract more ecotourists to the region. Develop a social media and agrotourism user manual for staff and volunteers at Mujeres de Islas to ensure streamlined processes after the VISTA member’s year of service.
Member Duties: The Communications Assistant will work to strengthen, build and develop the visual media work at Mujeres de Islas to streamline, standardize and improve internal and external communication tools. Mujeres de Islas produces a wide variety of visual media content used as part of its social media, educational programs, workshops, and community outreach. This position requires a creative and self-directed candidate with graphic design and marketing experience and good interpersonal skills. The candidate should be comfortable working with a dynamic team on real grassroots-level service. They must have exceptional organization skills and be knowledgeable with web-based technology.
