Salary Range: Depending on educational credentials, placement can range from $86,304 to $121,488 per year.

The Position

The College seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member in Communication Studies. The ideal candidate will share the College’s commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. Start date of this assignment: Spring 2025

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the communication studies discipline using culturally responsive pedagogical techniques
  • Understand and use effective practices for engaging African-American, Latinx, Filipinx, and Pacific-Islander students
  • Maintain expertise in current teaching methodologies and curricula
  • Assist in new course development, curriculum revisions, and course, program, and institutional assessments
  • Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours
  • Serve as a member of division and college committees
  • Perform other duties as required by contract and institutional needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of a Master’s or above in relevant fields or the equivalent
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and understanding of diverse backgrounds

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Preference will be given to candidates who:

  • Possess a professional level of competence and recent successful experience in teaching college-level transfer courses
  • Demonstrate evidence of collaboration with campus programs
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development
