Position

CallRail is seeking a Senior Manager of Content to play an integral role in leading revenue growth for the company. Reporting to the Head of Growth Marketing and managing a team of content marketers and freelancers, this individual will be responsible for leading and optimizing the content marketing production engine. In this role, you’ll develop and execute a sustainable, efficient, conversion-focused content strategy and production process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evangelize a point of view on CallRail’s copy and content - what formats, mediums, experiences, and copy approaches we use in our content strategy and when.
  • Manage the Content budget to ensure efficient use of resources internally and externally.
  • Work cross-functionally across Growth Marketing to understand content needs each quarter across vertical segments and funnel stages.
  • Develop and maintain expertly organized editorial calendars for the content we deliver across all funnel stages and channels (blog, video, ebooks, reports).
  • Efficiently guide and/or create content in accordance with CallRail content strategy – interfacing with internal and external contributors to ensure timely publishing of helpful, rich content.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to deeply understand our buyer personas, their pain points, and how our solutions solve their pain points.
  • Constantly seek to align content marketing strategy to a growing understanding of who CallRail customers and leads are, what pain points they bring into a buying decision, and what stages exist in their particular journey toward conversion.
  • Partner with the Website Strategy team to direct the website’s overall content marketing strategy and align all copy and content decisions to CallRail’s business objectives and core audiences.
  • Partner closely with the Customer and Partner Marketing team to develop efficient and effective processes for developing customer story content and bringing the voice of the customer to life.
  • Work closely with our SEO team to ensure that all assets are SEO optimized, aligned to the latest SEO strategy, and reflect SEO best practices.
  • Own reporting for content performance and surface insights to inform strategy adjustments.
  • Oversee governance of AI writing tools internally and externally.
  • Own the hiring and onboarding process of new content writers, internally & externally.
  • Identify and manage third-party resources as required -- agencies, writers, etc.
  • Stay up to date with industry and content marketing trends and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills and 2+ years experience managing a team of content creators - in-house and/or freelance.
  • Deep understanding of content marketing, copy editing, and copywriting, with 7+ years in content marketing or related field.
  • Proven track record of creating successful content programs in B2B settings.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to efficiently research content topics.
  • Experience managing and editing a large volume of content.
  • Excellent project management, writing, and communications skills.
  • Strong editorial governance and grasp of modern, web-driven English.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to measure and monitor the results of initiatives and programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS preferred.
