Position Overview:

The Social AV Editor at Legion Creative is responsible for editing high-quality, engaging video content for social and digital platforms. This role involves cutting promos, cutdowns, and platform-specific content for entertainment and brand campaigns.

The ideal candidate has a strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and technical editing expertise, with a deep understanding of the unique demands of social content.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Production:

  • Ideate, comp and pitch creative ideas.
  • Edit short-form video content for various social platforms and optimize according to brand platform guidelines.
  • Create social cuts from trailers, feature footage, or branded content.
  • Collaborate with motion designers and the creative team to incorporate motion graphics, subtitles, and other visual enhancements.
  • Balance multiple project deadlines simultaneously while managing time effectively.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with creative and strategy teams to execute the visual vision of campaigns.
  • Implement feedback from internal teams and clients efficiently and accurately.
  • Communicate proactively to flag potential issues or suggest creative solutions.

Asset Management:

  • Organize and manage project files.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient editing workflow, following agency standards for file storage and asset handoff.
  • Archive and catalog completed projects for easy future access.

Culture:

  • Champion the Legion culture, contributing to a positive, collaborative environment.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in AV to drive innovation.
  • Lead by example, ensuring new hires understand the agency’s proactive culture.
  • Drive internal conversations around new video trends and innovations, ensuring the team stays ahead of the curve.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of professional editing experience in a social or digital content environment.
  • Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro; proficiency in After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator is a bonus.
  • Experience with sound design, color grading, and basic motion graphic integration.
  • Strong understanding of editing for social platforms, including social formats, aspect ratios, durations, and trends.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Trello, Frame.io, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from senior team members.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with social and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Current understanding of all social media platforms.
  • Experience editing promotional content, such as sizzles, trailer cutdowns, and teasers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with asset management tools like Frame.io, Trello, and similar platforms.
