Salary Range: Lab Course - $75.48 up to $103.03 per hour. Lecture Course - $87.88 up to $118.85.

The Position

The Colleges seek a part-time faculty member in Film who shares the Colleges’ commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Teach classes as assigned from the regular Film Department curriculum.
2. Assist in curriculum assessment and revisions and new course development.
3. Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours.
4. Maintain expertise in current teaching methodologies and curricula.
5. Perform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needs.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Possession of a Master’s or above in film, drama/theater arts, or mass communication OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s or above in media studies, English, or communication OR the equivalent.
2. Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Recent successful experience in teaching or preparation to teach college-level courses in film.
2. Understanding and commitment to the role and purpose of the community college.
3. Knowledge of the use of technology in teaching and film.
4. Ability to use and develop teaching methods that emphasize cooperation and collaboration.
5. Ability to organize and explain materials in ways appropriate to students with different abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experiences.
