JOB PURPOSE
To support the vision and mission of Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College by creating stunning visual solutions for design project that creatively communicate our story, while upholding the brand standards for the institution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage the visual identity of Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College by creating graphics to effectively communicate the desired message and support the overall communication strategies, goals, and brand guidelines of the institution.
- Maintain brand consistency across all communication.
- Provide team feedback to form a cohesive look and feel between multiple designers.
- Create eye-catching designs to effectively support the brand
- Contribute to the design discovery processes through brainstorming, creative strategies, and team meetings, while ensuring brand consistency.
- Solve creative problems at the conceptual level for various channels and mediums.
- Stay up to date on design trends ensure relevancy from an aesthetic perspective.
- Continue to learn and work toward mastery in the three main design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
- Maintain a strong attention to detail from a technical perspective.
- Provide production support for projects, campaigns, and initiatives
- Utilize production skills including designing and producing production-ready files quickly and accurately and performing press-checks as needed
- Work with the project manager on file proof sign offs to ensure quality control.
- Manage projects, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Work closely with videography, photography, editors, web development, social media, internal clients, and any related external vendor, such as printers.
- Execute print/collateral projects from start to finish
- Work with the Director of Marketing to develop plans and designs for digital and print advertisements.
- Meet weekly with the creative team to discuss projects and brainstorm creative ideas.
QUALIFICATIONS
A self-starter, collaborative at heart and continuously pursues new trends and innovative designs while understanding institutional goals and strategy, brand guidelines, creative storytelling, and project parameters.

Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
Undergraduate degree in graphic design, communications, or related field preferred
Minimum three (3) years graphic design experience preferred
Able to solve complex design problems
Must work collaboratively as part of a creative team
Display exceptional conceptual and design skills.
Possess a knowledgeable foundation in layout, typography, color, balance, composition, and current design trends.
Maintain discipline to consistently apply and enforce style and brand guidelines.
Understand digital and print requirements.
Able to respond professionally to direction, constructive critique, and client feedback.
Able to prioritize, problem solve, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must possess a strong attention to detail
Must take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
Willing to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A positive attitude
Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record
Eligible to work in the United States

WORKING CONDITIONS
Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm
Occasionally design coverage for events may be required outside regular office hours
Shared office environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at desk or computer station
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
Able lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
