Software Solutions Corporations is a fast-growing Information Technology and Engineering company headquartered in Madison, WI, with offices in the Washington DC Metro Area and a new office in Miami, FL. Our core competencies include Agile Software Development, Data Analytics, Research and Analysis, Infrastructure Support, and Program Management. We are looking to hire a Lead Graphic Designer/Web Producer to support our internal projects and customers.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of responsibility and visibility. Their work will be viewed globally and it will include Digital and Print Media. This role will be responsible for providing end-to-end, cross-discipline support to IT projects, which includes graphic design activities (Digital and Print) and web production services. This Lead Graphic Designer/Web Producer is expected to contribute and/or lead activities across multiple projects varying in complexity, risk, and/or business-critical tasks; and actively champion the growth of Software Solutions Corporation capabilities in his/her area. This role will interact with clients, project managers, executives, and project team members.
The Lead Graphic Designer/Web Producer will report to the Director of Operations, COO, and will be an active member of the Software Solutions Corporation Project Management team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree and more than 4 years of experience (additional experience, education, and training may be considered in lieu of degree)
- Experience and skill set with CorelDraw, Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop for illustrations, photos, and videos
- Experience and skill set with HTML, PHP, WordPress, CSS, Bootstrap, and API Design is a plus.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with tech writers, subject matter experts, and other graphic artists. Communication can be in English, Spanish, and Brazilian-Portuguese.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
- Ability to provide an online portfolio of work experience (e.g., projects, products)
- Experience with UI/UX/API/Plugin optimization and implementation
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Self-driven, ability to communicate personal needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and documentation
- Design school experience is preferred
- Experience as both a self-starter working independently and working within a team to understand requirements and meet delivery schedules
- Understanding of an Agile-Tecova practice
- Conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates editorial illustrations and creative artwork
- Expert skill set with CorelDraw or Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop or other design tools.
- Experience working with highly-visible “private and public” web operations (highly desirable)
- Expertise with government policy accessibility mandates, 508 standards preferred but not required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Using CorelDraw or Adobe Creative Suite skills, conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates illustrations and creative artwork in accordance with requirements
- Reads and interprets requirements to ensure compliance
- Develops and maintains a log of artwork (illustrations, photos, videos) to document graphic control numbers; this is available to the larger tech doc and training team for inclusion in technical data packages
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ensures graphics and packaging are developed within the delivery schedule
- Participates in team meetings as appropriate
- Provides visual Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) of all graphics
