Librarian - Collections (Full-Time Faculty)

Duties

  1. Support the goals and mission of the college.
  2. The Collections Librarian is responsible for the leadership of the development of the library collection.
  3. Work collaboratively with library staff and other librarians to manage and coordinate print and electronic collection development.
  4. Develop programs and facilitate activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
  5. Teach information and digital literacy classes in a wide range of disciplines, including transfer, career programs, and developmental education.
  6. Provide reference/information assistance to a diverse community in a busy library.
  7. Work across campus to develop relationships that help in identifying the curricular, equity, and access needs of our campus and community.

Education/Experience

A Master’s degree in library science or information science from an American Library Association-accredited graduate program is required. Experience in a community college or higher education setting is preferred.

Qualifications

  1. Library experience with current selection tools and processes.
  2. Familiarity with purchasing and accounting practices.
  3. Demonstrated experience with Integrated Library Systems (ILS), Electronic Resource Management (ERM) systems, and the e-resource lifecycle.
  4. Experience using Canvas or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  5. Ability to utilize assessment strategies to examine library collections.
  6. Strong technology and troubleshooting skills.
  7. Project management skills and ability to build consensus.

Hours

To be determined. 35 hours per week. 9-month contract with additional required contract weeks. Expectation to work some evening and weekend hours as needed. Will work at all campus sites and in all modalities as needed.

Salary/Wage: $55,284-$66,812 (9 month contract)
