The firm is seeking a savvy and dynamic Research Analyst with excellent analytical skills to support the firm's robust practice areas. The Analyst will work as part of the Research team in providing in-depth corporate and litigation research. The individual in this position will have the opportunity to liaise with lawyers, legal assistants, and Business Development personnel at all levels within the firm to advance the firm's research and knowledge management AI initiatives. This is a hybrid role. It requires in-office attendance and partial remote work in accordance with firm's policy.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Perform in-depth legal, corporate, and business research across multiple practice areas through the utilization of traditional and non-traditional sources.
  2. Perform precedential corporate research -specifically using SEC related tools and filings.
  3. Compile legislative histories under the guidance of the Senior Legal Research Analyst.
  4. Conduct case law and regulatory research.
  5. Train attorneys and staff on cost-effective research tools.
  6. Possess excellent analytical skills to provide relevant work product that is responsive to the needs of our lawyers and clients.
  7. Use project management and planning skills to prioritize competing assignments; work within recognized budgetary constraints, and consistently meet tight deadlines.
  8. Publish curated current awareness intelligence to keep corporate and litigation practice groups in-the-know.
  9. Manage digital content for practice specific intranet research pages.
  10. Keep database and research skills up to date by attending appropriate educational seminars and professional functions.

Requirements:

  1. The ideal candidate will understand the information needs of attorneys in a high-pressure/high-profile practice.
  2. Possesses strong corporate, case law, and fact-pattern research skills.
  3. A team player who demonstrates strong intellectual inquisitiveness.
  4. Pays attention to detail and possesses the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  5. 3+ years' experience at an AmLaw 50 firm or equivalent.
  6. Utilizes appropriate fee-based and non-metered resources to provide excellent practice support in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  7. Proficient with Lexis+, Intelligize, Westlaw, Practical Law, Bloomberg Law, VitalLaw, RBSource Filings, Refinitiv sources, PACER, Quest, among others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. M.L.S/M.L.I.S. from an ALA accredited program and/or JD preferred.
  2. Research expertise in Corporate, Banking, IP, Insurance, IDR a plus.
