Position Summary

The Communication department at Monmouth University is seeking applications for Adjunct Professors for Responsive Media, an upper-level Communication and Art cross-listed course that is also part of the Interactive Media minor. Students learn how to make interfaces for smartphones and tablets to create interactive audio and video. In addition, students will produce creative projects using data mapping, generative art and work collaboratively on a site-specific media project.

The course uses lectures, hands-on demonstrations, directed readings, and discussions to help students understand the parameters of their digital tools and make high quality, socially engaged work.

The candidate would be expected to teach 3 – 6 credits per semester.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills or Software: Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Required Degree, Licenses or Certifications: Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree, or Master’s degree in Communication or a closely related field.

Other Requirements: Ability to teach editing software, including: PC/MAC, Adobe CC Suite, Avid Media Composer, Sony XDCAM devices and Canon DSLRs.
