Adjunct Faculty: Music Studio Artists 2025

The Department of Music at Augsburg University invites studio artist applications to teach applied lessons in 2025. This search will establish a “pool” of instructors if such openings occur during Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2025. Applicants may be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the year.

Lesson needs vary by term. In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level, studio artists are expected to respond to student questions through email and hold regularly scheduled office hours.

Compensation & Benefits
Subject to the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284

  • $60/hr for lessons. 7 or 14 hours per student per term.
  • Eligible for 1-1.5% retirement contribution match
  • Tuition discount for employees and dependents
  • Not eligible for healthcare benefits

Please note that due to employment law and payroll regulations, we can only employ studio artists who reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. This restriction applies even to courses taught online.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Music or a closely related area. Teaching experience in Music at the college level is preferred.
