Director of Music - St. Patrick Church, Ann Arbor, MI

St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ann Arbor, is seeking a qualified candidate to work as a part-time Music Director and Organist (15-20 hours/week). If desired, the position might be supplemented with unrelated work at the parish office. Salary is flexible with experience.

Qualifications:

1. Proficiency at the organ
2. Experience directing choirs
3. The ability to cantor
4. Familiarity with Roman Catholic Church documents on music and the liturgy
5. A working knowledge of Gregorian chant
6. Familiarity with the Extraordinary Form of the Mass and pronunciation of ecclesial Latin (highly recommended)

Responsibilities:

1. One weeknight choir rehearsal
2. Three weekend Masses
3. One weekend choir rehearsal
4. Additional seasonal rehearsals
5. Additional yearly liturgies including Masses on Holy Days, holidays, First Communion, Confirmation
6. A monthly Extraordinary Form Mass
7. Twice-yearly penance service liturgies
8. Additional compensation for weddings and funerals
