News Director Job at WISH TV in Indianapolis

WISH-TV/WNDY located in Indianapolis, IN has an immediate opening for an experienced multi-platform minded, innovative News Director. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced journalist with well-developed leadership skills that can create and lead strategic plans to grow our audience and better serve our community. WISH-TV has one of the largest newsrooms in the Midwest and produces and airs over 84 hours of live local news and entertainment programming per week in DMA rank #25. The individual should be adept with multiplatform broadcast and digital newsgathering, as well as someone who can execute strategic, focused breaking news coverage.

Key Duties:

• Lead and manage one of the largest newsrooms in the Midwest
• Good people and leadership skills
• Create & implement strategic plans to grow our audience across all platforms
• Ability to adapt current resources to emerging technology
• Manage newsroom staff and provide regular feedback and yearly performance reviews
• Proven multi-platform experience is a must-have
• Previous network experience is a plus

Education & Experience:

• College degree
• 5 years multi-platform newsroom management experience
