The Role

As an Account Director, Public Relations you are running accounts autonomously, driving the overarching account strategy while making sure the team is set up for success and understands their roles and responsibilities. You’re the main client contact for nuanced conversations related to the team and the work, and you drive the strategy and deliverables ensuring results each quarter.

Duties and Responsibilities

Account and Client Management

  • Travel for client needs
  • Lead banner hospitality moments and campaigns
  • Create, execute, delegate, & course correct overarching account strategies
  • Review Harvest reports and course correct as needed
  • Act as a trusted partner to clients
  • Oversee scopes of work and direct your teams
  • Actively monitor your team’s activity
  • Lead your team by providing clear guidance
  • Design impactful PR campaigns and partnerships
  • Manage conversations with clients relating to contract renewal
  • Demonstrate leadership with your clients and your teams
  • Understand your client’s business goals
  • Nurture client accounts with proven tactics
  • Identify add-on projects for clients

Media Relations

  • Success is your team members getting those hits
  • Create big-thinking pitches
  • Guide your teams to proper media
  • Nurture your A-list media relationships
  • Remain relevant in the media industry

New Business

  • Provide thought leadership for new business proposals
  • Attend new business meetings and presentations
  • Build and foster a personal network of contacts
  • Develop a specialty area at the agency

Team Leadership

  • Leading team and giving expert counsel
  • Mentor and guide your team members
  • Manage your team retention

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel for client needs
  • Stellar client and media references
  • Strong relationships with media contacts
  • Effective management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High-energy, positive self-starter
  • Creative problem solver
  • Proven ability to handle time-sensitive projects
  • Solid leadership and coaching skills
  • Must have a valid passport for international travel

Experience:

  • College Degree or comparable experience required
  • At least 10 years of public relations experience
