Job Description and Responsibilities:
The Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University invites applications for a nine-month non-tenure track position in Mass Communication as a Professional-in-Residence in Spring 2025. Applications will be reviewed beginning in August 2024.
We seek a distinguished communication practitioner to teach three courses per semester in the Manship School undergraduate core curriculum and/or courses in public relations, strategic communication, corporate communication, crisis communications and courses related to their areas of expertise.
A candidate hired as a professional-in-residence would also supervise undergraduate research and creative work. They will also develop a portfolio of service activities, including support for the Manship School's efforts to promote more diverse and inclusive media professions.
•Teach three public relations courses per semester. 60%
•Serve as faculty advisor for the PRSSA at LSU student organization. 20%
•Participate in service activities in support of the Manship School. 20%
Required Qualifications-Professional-in-Residence applicants:
Master's degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, or related discipline and eight years of related experience. Accreditation in Public Relations credentials preferred.
