Position Summary:

Asheville’s first Hispanic station, La Pantera 97.3 is looking for its first Program Director and Morning Host. Join the Asheville Media Group and Saga Communications Inc. LLC team of professionals. You must be passionate about delivering compelling and entertaining content geared toward a growing Hispanic community, on-air, online, and on social media. The right person will understand the importance of connection to the community. We are seeking a multi-talented individual with experience in radio broadcasting, social media management, and audio production. This role is perfect for a creative and energetic professional who can captivate listeners on the air, engage audiences online, and produce high-quality audio content that aligns with our station’s brand and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

On-Air Talent:

  • Host live or pre-recorded radio shows, delivering engaging, relatable, and entertaining content.
  • Curate, prepare, and present music, interviews, news, or other station-specific programming.
  • Build rapport with listeners through interactive on-air content, including live call-ins and contests.
  • Represent the station at promotional events, community activities, and client-sponsored gatherings.
  • Ensure compliance with station policies, FCC guidelines, and broadcasting standards.

Social Media Specialist:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to promote station content, shows, and events.
  • Create and schedule engaging content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Monitor listener engagement, respond to comments, and foster a positive and interactive online community.
  • Analyze performance metrics to optimize campaigns and ensure maximum reach and engagement.
  • Stay informed on trends, tools, and strategies to maintain innovative and relevant social media presence.

Audio Production:

  • Produce high-quality audio content, including commercials, promos, station IDs, and podcast episodes.
  • Record, edit, and mix audio using professional software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or Audacity).
  • Collaborate with on-air talent, marketing, and sales teams to create compelling audio campaigns.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot studio equipment, ensuring optimal sound quality.
  • Archive audio assets and maintain organized project files for future use.
  • Assist in live production setups for remote broadcasts or events.

Qualifications:

  • Broadcasting: Proven experience as on-air talent, announcer, or similar role in media.
  • Social Media: Hands-on experience managing and creating engaging social media campaigns.
  • Audio Production: Proficiency with audio editing software, familiarity with automation systems and music scheduling software (preferably Musicmaster).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to captivate audiences both on-air and online.
  • Creative mindset and attention to detail in audio production and social media content creation.
  • Basic knowledge of broadcasting equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
