High Power Microwave/Radio Frequency Engineer
Purpose:
Hill Technical Solutions (HTS), an operation of Valkyrie Enterprises, is seeking a High Power Microwave/Radio Frequency Engineer This opportunity will be in Huntsville, AL. To serve as an HPM/RF Engineer for the U.S. Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) Indirect Fire Protection Capability – High Power Microwave (IFPC-HPM) in Huntsville, AL. The candidate shall provide: analysis of technical data provided by vendor; insight into effects of HPM on other equipment; and recommendations to Government as the sole HPM subject matter expert on site.
Job Description:
- Perform critical analysis of technical data packages including but not limited to: SRR/SFR/PDR/CDR presentations, HPM acceptance test planning/results, HPM lethality analysis, and HPM risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide recommendation on emplacement of HPM system to maximize lethality while limiting impact to equipment.
- Interface with Naval Surface Warfare Division-Dahlgren HPM SME’s to provide RCCTO leadership with recommendations on a wide range efforts being conducted.
- Work with all stakeholders to gain approval to operate HPM system both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Perform all source analysis to acquire required technical specifications.
- Provide Professional Engineering Advice, guidance and assistance in various stages of research, development and deployment.
- Formulate/estimate technical parameters that are not available from all source analysis.
- Support preparation of risk assessment reports, safety assessment reports, and technical data packages and presentation materials.
- Must have experience evaluating, coordinating, and risk mitigations with HPM/RF systems.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
- Must be able to effectively work within a multi-disciplined team, including program management and technical/engineering personnel, preferred.
- Experience with Directed Energy Weapon Initial Operational Employment Review and Approval Process (DEWRAP) process, preferred.
- Experience with wide range of sensors (EO/IR, Radar, etc.), preferred.
- Experience with non-kinetic effectors (Lasers, EW, etc.), preferred.
- Day-to-Day work requires the development of detailed schedules and processes
- Understand system engineering processes, preferred.
- Strong oral and written communications skills, preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), preferred.
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor in working with senior Army leadership, preferred.
- Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
- Occasional Travel- less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. - Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
