About Thirst Church: Thirst is an exciting contemporary non-denominational church that was planted in November of 2018. Our mission is to demonstrate and share the life-changing good news of Jesus Christ. On a Sunday morning, our average attendance is 350 people. God has blessed us with a permanent space that was completed in 2021 and that includes a full-service coffee shop open to the public 7 days a week.

Position Overview: As the Worship & Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in the spiritual and technical life of the church by leading both the worship team and the tech team. This dual-role position requires a unique blend of musical leadership, technical expertise, and relational skills to create an inviting and Spirit-filled worship experience. You will collaborate closely with the service planning team to ensure that each Sunday service is well-organized, executed, and aligned with the church's mission and vision. Your role will also include overseeing the church's audio, video, and online streaming needs, as well as developing and mentoring volunteers to support these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Worship Leadership:

  • Lead Weekly Worship Services: Serve as the primary worship leader for Sunday services, working in collaboration with other band members and worship leaders. Use a variety of contemporary Christian music to engage the congregation and create a dynamic worship experience.
  • Service Planning: Actively participate in weekly service planning meetings, contributing to the selection of music, themes, and worship elements that align with the sermon and church vision.
  • Schedule and Lead Rehearsals: Schedule worship team members for Sunday services and special events. Lead and organize weekly rehearsals, ensuring that team members are well-prepared musically and spiritually.
  • Set List Creation: In conjunction with the Service Planning Team, create worship set lists that complement the service theme and enhance the congregational experience. Enter all set list details into Planning Center Services.
  • Spiritual & Musical Coaching: Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to worship team members, both musically and spiritually, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
  • Team Development: Build strong relationships with worship team members and look for opportunities to grow the team. Identify and develop new leaders within the worship ministry.
  • Documentation & Procedures: Develop standard operating procedures for the worship team to ensure consistency, excellence, and efficiency in team operations.

Technical Leadership:

  • Audio & Visual Oversight: Manage the technical needs for the church, including sound, video, and online streaming, ensuring high-quality production for all services and events.
  • Sound & Video Management: Oversee the front-of-house soundboard and the video production system, ensuring seamless operation during services. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed.
  • Media & Streaming: Oversee the church's media production and online streaming efforts, ensuring that both in-person and virtual congregants have a high-quality worship experience.
  • Technical Team Development: Lead, train, and mentor the technical volunteers and staff to ensure they are well-equipped to meet the technical needs of each service and event. Develop ongoing training and educational opportunities for both the worship and tech teams.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of the Gospel and how God’s Word empowers and transforms the lives of individuals and families.
  • Strong musical skills both instrumentally and vocally.
  • Experience leading worship in a church.
  • Experience overseeing front of house and online soundboards.
  • Working knowledge of ProPresenter and Planning Center Services.
  • Strong leadership and relational skills to develop and nurture effective relationships with congregants, team members, and volunteers.
  • Organized and efficient with time management during both primary office hours and offsite.
  • Flexibility to work interdepartmentally to assure church ministries and events are well supported.
  • Minimum of 1 year leading worship in a church environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in music preferred, not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,500.00 per year
