Job Description

We are looking for mid-level User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) Designers who will help develop AI technologies that adapt and scale to solve sophisticated problems across a variety of Department of Defense (DoD) domains. UI/UX Designers embrace and represent the SoarTech Core Values (Innovative, Honest, Customer Focused, Respectful, Integrity and People) in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback to enhance the usability and functionality of our AI technologies.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • Design and deliver user interfaces using Figma.
  • Test interfaces to ensure that the software meets design specifications.
  • Optimize existing user interface designs and test for intuitiveness and experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, human factors, systems engineering or a related discipline.
  • Three (3) years of UI/UX experience in a similar scope, program, and/or environment.
  • Proficient in design tools such as Figma.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and projects.
  • A passion for working with Artificial Intelligence.
  • Experience using task tracking and project management software, such as GitLab or Jira.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support technical presentations, testing, and integration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

  • An advanced degree in graphic design, human factors, systems engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with AI tools, including large language models (LLMs).
  • Experience developing instructional materials such as online courses, e-learning modules, training manuals, and multimedia presentations.
  • Experience with DoD information systems.
  • An active Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
