Job Description
Objective:
NBHS seeks a Lead Visual Instructor to lead and inspire our students and staff. Through strong leadership, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills – this candidate will foster a positive environment for all participants.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with leading the summer Marching Band Camp and Fall Season
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement
- Direct the visual development of the band for the fall and winter seasons
- Instruct all visual ensemble rehearsals
- Establish the visual techniques for the Whaler Marching Band
- Determine warm-ups, features, and technique blocks
- Run small group rehearsals and performances
- Maintain, secure, and setup equipment and materials for rehearsals and performances
- Establish a positive rapport with students and families
- Participate in concerts, marching band competitions, football games, parades, and other community events as needed throughout the school year
- Flexible schedule including working holidays
- Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal, Director of Fine Arts, or CDAM - Arts
