Cypress In-Line Inspection, LLC (“Cypress”) is a young technology company serving the municipal water and energy industries. Cypress develops ultra-high resolution fifth generation (“5G”) in-line inspection (“ILI”) tools (also known as “smart pigs”) that are designed to provide high resolution images of pipelines to assist the owners in managing their pipeline integrity, protecting property, people, and the environment. These ILI tools are utilized to inspect both municipal water pipelines that transport precious drinking water, and energy pipelines that transport various hydrocarbon products including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and other products routinely transferred via underground pipelines. Our technology utilizes various technologies including Magnetic Flux Leakage (“MFL”) technology. We work for some of the most prestigious municipal water authorities and energy pipeline companies in the world including but not limited to the City of Denver, City of San Francisco, Jordan Valley, North Jersey Water Supply Commission, Washington County Water, City of Denver; and energy companies like Bridger, Chevron, Dominion/Enbridge, DCP Midstream, Marathon, Plains All America, Phillips 66, Targa Midstream, Lower Valley Energy, United States Air Force, etc.
Overview
We are seeking an adaptable In-line Inspection visual analyst and Manager to lead our team. This role offers a unique opportunity for a skilled manager to learn and oversee critical quality control processes in our service environment. This position will also perform visual signal analysis and report creation in accordance with regulatory standards. This position will report to a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Visual Inspection Analysts, overseeing schedules, performance, and accountability
- Learn and understand visual inspection processes and techniques
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy of inspection procedures
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality standards are met
- Provide regular reports on team performance and inspection outcomes
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators
- ILI data assessment (by visual signal analysis) and report generation
- Identify geometry, corrosion, and geospatial features captured in the ILI data
- Maintain skills, certifications, and complete additional training (internal/external) as required
- Participate in training sessions and pass required exams ANSI/ASNT ILI-PQ- standards
- Learn the responsibilities and required tasks of a Level III Data Analyst
- Evaluate and analyze data that has been acquired during an in-line inspection
- Feature categorization and evaluation, sizing, application of anomaly interaction rules and standard / non-standard analysis
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proven track record of process improvement and optimization
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technical processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel as a data analysis and reporting tool
- Requires pattern recognition and spatial thinking skills
- Knowledge of PHMSA Part 192 and 195 regulations, API, NACE and ASME standards and recommended practices is preferred
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field
- API 1163 and ASNT ILI-PQ 2017 and later certifications and experience
- Experience in a management role in a quality control environment
- Familiarity with quality control principles and practices
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) methods
- Background in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen)
