Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in digital or graphic design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five to seven years of job-related experience
- Strong ability to manage and maintain effective working relationships with diverse population, ability to perform and effectively make important decisions under pressure
- Advanced knowledge of digital graphic and design principles and processes; strong knowledge of latest web development cycle and programming techniques
- UX/UI design knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, organization, and creativity skills; HTML and CSS
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and problem-solving; strong attention to detail
- Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check
Responsibilities
- Responsible for strategy, development, and production of front-end web design for use across Institute websites and other communications platforms
- This position will interact on a regular basis with: Client management, faculty, staff, and external audiences
- This position typically will advise and counsel: Client management, faculty, and staff

- Prepare digital designs, artwork, and other visuals in support of projects; ensure the vision of the Institution is represented clearly and effectively through the end product; and visual brand consistency is maintained throughout
- Design highly responsive user interface layouts with attention to the user's holistic design, experience, and interaction flow; understand target audiences' needs, from the general public, peer research university faculty, and philanthropy, to students
- Counsel campus colleagues and production personnel in conceptualizing and defining graphic design requirements; participate as web design subject-matter expert on cross-campus, cross-functional working groups that execute on Institute-wide marketing communications goals
- Establish project priorities, evaluate scope based on design requirements, and propose a production schedule
- Coordinate production process to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Prepare review of final product with users to provide feedback
- Maintain ongoing awareness of graphic design industry trends and developments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Benefits
- Salary range: $72,000-$82,000
