Technical Writer

KAI Partners is seeking a Technical Writer to support state government clients in developing a Statement of Work (SOW). The Technical Writer will collaborate with state subject matter experts and KAI Partners colleagues to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into an SOW. The role requires high standards of accuracy and clarity. The ideal candidate will have a background in technical writing or a related field, excellent communication skills, proficiency in developing solicitations and RFPs, and experience with Dynamics 365 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate with assigned internal business partners as needed to ensure deadlines and document expectations are met.
  2. Ensure solicitations adhere to organizational standards and legal compliance requirements.
  3. Align documentation with the industry’s best practices and applicable regulations.
  4. Develop clear sections, headings, and subsections to enhance readability.
  5. Address deliverable formatting such as headers, footers, numbering, and document references.
  6. Use technical language where necessary but maintain overall clarity for non-technical readers.
  7. Review solicitations for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  8. Cross-reference with related documents to maintain coherence.
  9. Maintain records of changes and updates to ensure traceability.
  10. Finalize the solicitation document for submission to the client.
  11. Ensure proper dissemination of information to relevant parties and maintain archived copies for reference.
  12. Review and revise drafts based on feedback from stakeholders.
  13. Perform other related duties, as assigned.

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, delivery partners, community organizations, and industry associations
  5. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, Visio, business intelligence, remote communications)
  6. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  7. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  8. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Work/Education Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Required)
  2. At least two (2) years of FTE experience performing technical writing where writing and designing process solutions was required.

Compensation Range: $34.50 - $45/hr.

The salary range for this role may vary depending on the specific geographic location where this position is ultimately filled. Several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, and certifications, pay equity, and organizational needs, are considered when determining the posted salary range. In addition, eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
