Hostwinds is looking for a technical writer to join our growing team.

Qualifications

1. 2+ years of experience in a technical field such as computer science or software engineering
2. 2+ years of experience in Technical Writing
3. Experience with web hosting and associated technologies (Domains, Virtualization, Databases, Email)
4. Experience with cloud services (Servers, Object Storage, DNS)
5. Software Development Experience
6. Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
8. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and a technical background that enables them to collaborate effectively with Software Engineers, Solutions Architects, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers while delivering high-quality technical documentation.

Responsibilities

1. Technical Writers are responsible for creating and maintaining all technical copy produced by the company.
2. Work with other teams within the company to create, maintain, and organize high-quality internal technical documentation.
3. Work to continually create new tutorials to help educate our clients on performing complicated technical tasks.
4. Identify new opportunities that we can create tutorials about to continuously expand our library of tutorials.
5. Write blog posts and other “fun” technical content to engage our highly specialized audience.
6. Write technical marketing materials as needed for product sales and landing pages.
7. Help to create Email copy for company broadcasts and announcements.
