Bravura Inc. is hiring: Instructor/Writer – Ft Shafter in Honolulu

BITS is seeking an experienced Instructor/Writer for Fort Shafter’s Pacific Signal University (PSU) to support the Regional Signal Training Sites (RSTS) program. Instructor/writers develop and teach classes in Tactical Networks, Tactical Radios, IT Certification, and Cyber Security.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist in developing government-owned training materials (Lesson Plan, PowerPoint Presentations, etc.).
2. Audit and edit all developed courseware for accuracy, completeness, flow, balance, and clarity of understanding.
3. Review and modify all lessons, material, labs, and instruction based on student critiques to ensure maximum value in minimum time.
4. Provide instruction (must possess industry certifications as required by the Government RSTS Site Manager). The number of courses and their content are subject to change based on DoD and Army requirements.
5. Participate in Operational Tests, Training Exercises, and New Equipment Training (NET).
6. Conduct and report End of Course survey results to Government RSTS site manager for review.
7. Provide effective training in accordance with RSTS site-specific training policies, lesson plans, training schedules, and student feedback from end-of-course evaluations.
8. Implement a “train the trainer” curriculum in support of unit sustainment training.
9. Ensure training encompasses all operational aspects of the assigned system being trained.
10. Provide functional services and commercially certified personnel related to commercial certification and test completion.
11. Perform duties as a Pearson Vue and/or Prometric proctor where applicable and required, coordinating all efforts with Army operations and course manager.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:

1. Possess current industry certifications or demonstrated training experience on the tactical/commercial communications equipment required to immediately fill the specific instructor vacancy at the affected site.
2. Experience with Army-standard desktop applications and configurations, i.e., daily reporting programs, MS Office, and Army Gold Master (AGM) configurations.
3. Prior Military Service is a plus and considered favorable for teaching experience.
4. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to get on and off post.
5. Possess and maintain a DOD SECRET security clearance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Possess 7 years or more experience teaching and developing training for complex subjects. In lieu of experience, a Bachelor of Science degree will be accepted.
2. Possess current certification in at least two or more of the following certifications:
   o ITF+ (IT Fundamentals Plus)
   o Security+
   o CASP
   o A+
   o CEH
   o CISSP
   o Project Manager Professional (PMP)
   Preferred but not required Certification:
   o Network+
   o CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator)
   o Data+
   o Fiber Optic Installer
   o CYSA
3. Demonstrated skills with AN/PRC 117F&G, AN/PRC 150, AN/PRC 152, AN/PRC 119.
4. Demonstrated experience with tailoring content and delivery for different audiences, presenting confidently to large or small groups, and using creative approaches to presenting.
5. Demonstrated experience with counseling students to improve their course knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of Army Regulation 350-1, TRADOC Regulation 350-70, and TRADOC Pamphlets 350-70-X.
7. Attain industry certifications within 60 days of a teaching assignment (DoD 8570.01M IAT and IAM level 1 certifications).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Training is at Ft. Shafter, HI.
2. Some OCONUS Travel to Alaska, Japan, and Korea, which requires a passport/visa.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. Instruction is mainly on podium but also includes virtual training.
2. Required to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time while teaching or testing.
