Our client Industries is looking for two Senior Java Developers: a backend and a UI developer. Candidates must complete a coding challenge and be able to come to Birmingham for a face-to-face interview. The process is as follows: Consultant completes coding challenge, does one face-to-face interview, then receives an offer.

Job Description:

Overview:

Role: Senior Developer

Degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline - preferred.

6+ years in Java Application Development (Java/J2EE/EJB).

Proficient in SQL Database Development (also DB2).

Comprehensive SDLC experience (requirements, architecture, design, testing, and deployment).

Understand and explain common OO Design patterns; knowledge of front controller pattern is a strong plus.

Web Service Development (XML/SOAP/REST).

Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD).

Knowledge of Cobol/CICS is a plus (migrating legacy code to Java and native stored procedures).

Responsibilities:

Develop applications using JAVA framework with Sencha (Ext & Sencha Touch) front end technologies.

Experience in Mobile Application Development.

Knowledge and solid experience with open source frameworks such as jQuery, requireJS, and EXT.

Contributions to Open Source Projects.

Experience working on Agile teams using Scrum.

Advanced knowledge and experience with DB2 & WebSphere application server.
