The Job

As the UX Design Lead, this leader will be responsible for coordination and leadership of SCAN's digital product designers, leading the design efforts across the end-to-end digital experience at SCAN. S/he should have a detailed understanding of best-of-breed end-to-end consumer experiences, digital engagement strategies and digital product and UX methodologies. This person must perform as a hands-on leader and think/operate strategically while executing effectively across multiple, concurrent work streams, and collaborate closely with Digital Product Management and Engineering. This person must be highly engaged, proactive, extremely detail-oriented, and a collaborator with exceptional digital product/design, execution and project management skills.

You Will

  • Help develop, execute and manage the end-to-end digital product & experience design strategy and roadmap, focusing on exceptional consumer experiences & outcomes, and resulting in growth, engagement and retention through digital channels.
  • Contribute to and champion the digital design vision, strategy and direction; guide the design team and collaborate with product and development to execute successfully.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and subject matter expertise to drive new ideas into the business while collaborating with peers functional in business, sales, service, clinical, and operations partners to align on and execute the digital product roadmap and strategy.
  • Work closely with insights (CXI, Data, etc.) and member-facing teams to understand constituents needs and behaviors, and effectively launch digital products, as well as partner with cross-functional teams to inform and influence business strategies through the consumer experience/digital lens.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on driving business outcomes through extraordinary digital experiences - monitor and analyze digital product and experience performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize and improve.
  • Contribute to the product roadmap, and clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes throughout the company.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and user-focused development; empower the design team by mentoring, upleveling and advocating for them and cultivating a culture of collaboration. Drive the recruitment, retention, and training of top-tier designers.
  • Participate in the digital experience prioritization process, making swift decisions to ensure the design team focuses on the most critical projects.
  • Drive the digital product lifecycle from concept to delivery prioritizing high impact digital products/experiences.
  • Partner internally with stakeholders to resolve issues that arise throughout the implementation of products and services. Drive and operate in an agile, nimble manner with a sense of urgency; move with "enough" data/insights, foster a change/adaptive mindset culture of continuous improvement.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in product management and/or UX/design leadership roles leading multi-disciplinary teams within internet and mobile-based services/products
  • 3+ years of management experience, managing digital product and/or design teams
  • Demonstrated experience in building, inspiring and leading and influencing cross-functional teams (at different levels) across multiple locations, time zones, and with remote employees
  • Proven track record of building high performing teams, hiring and developing individual contributors, managers, and directors
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large projects and programs in complex environments, against challenging timelines within a complex/regulated environment
  • Experience in Medicare industry preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members - and influence partner teams and direction - effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and deliver multiple projects simultaneously on tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels, understanding products in detail while maintaining a broader vision
  • A user-focused mindset, ensuring that digital product development meets the needs and expectations of our users
