Are you a sports storyteller who thrives in the fast-paced world of live television and digital news? WUSA9, the official television station of the Washington Commanders, is looking for a dynamic Senior Sports Producer to redefine how local sports are covered in the nation's capital. With exclusive access to the Commanders and the opportunity to produce two dedicated shows outside of our regular sports coverage, you'll lead the charge in crafting compelling, people-centered sports content that stands apart from the rest.

From traditional broadcasts to groundbreaking streaming opportunities, we're constantly pushing the boundaries of how sports stories are told.
What You'll Do:
As a key leader in our sports coverage, you'll collaborate with our talented anchors, reporters, producers, and digital team to shape the WUSA9 sports brand. You'll:
• Lead the production of dynamic, multi-platform sports content: Create engaging sports stories and segments for TV, digital, streaming, and social media.
• Leverage exclusive access to the Washington Commanders: Work directly with the team to identify stories, develop partnerships, and execute unparalleled coverage.
• Innovate with live and event-driven coverage: Produce live sports commentary shows and field coverage of marquee events that captivate our audience.
• Be a newsroom leader: Inspire a shared vision with our anchors, reporters, and producers while coordinating across teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Expand WUSA9's footprint in sports storytelling: Identify emerging sports trends, monitor social media for storylines, and find fresh ways to connect with our viewers.
• Step up when needed: Fill in as a newscast producer during major news cycles or events. Breaking news is a team sport at WUSA9.
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking an ambitious, creative, and motivated leader who knows how to connect sports to a broad audience. You should:
• Be a social media pro, adept at spotting and amplifying trends, and identifying content on new platforms.
• Understand that sports are about more than X's and O's-they're about people, passion, and community.
• Thrive under pressure, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities across platforms.
• Be ready to embrace the evolving media landscape, from traditional broadcasts to cutting-edge streaming initiatives.
