Overview Bowhead is seeking a Senior Strategic Communications Writer for an upcoming effort located at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC. The Senior Strategic Communications Writer will provide execution support for all enterprise-wide internal and external communications; this may include marketing requirements and legislative engagements and analysis; strategic communications and planning support; as well as surge efforts that may include symposium/conference logistics and execution, event and protocol support, and other efforts as required.

Provide direct support to senior leaders in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Create communication strategies and materials that support and promote engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with executive leadership, subject matter experts, and personnel key to informing and influencing command narratives. Think strategically to identify needs and requirements, and to develop recommendations and solutions. Manage small- and large-scale projects that contribute to a larger strategic communications plan. Manage competing priorities under strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in English, Communications, or related field with 10 or more years of experience in defense acquisition or other federal appropriation/authorization matters. Experience and knowledge of Congress, Navy Acquisition, the Navy, and Department of Defense is desirable. Strong demonstration of interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Target salary:
$120,000/year to $140,000/year commensurate with experience. Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time. Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically. Security Clearance Requirements Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
