The Patel Conservatory, located at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, is currently looking for a Summer 20254 Music Intern (Voice). This position is ideal for a college student or recent college graduate who possesses a strong commitment to working with young people in a variety of summer music camps and classes. This position provides support to Patel's full-time and adjunct faculty in many areas of teaching and administration of our summer offerings. Interns will be assigned to camps and classes that support their musical education and career path.

Essential Functions:
- Running choral sectional rehearsals.
- Singing as a choir member for concerts and showcases.
- Solo and group vocal coaching for beginners to advanced elementary, middle, and high school singers.
- Checking in students and maintaining daily and weekly attendance records.
- Supervising students in and outside of the classroom.
- Assisting instructors with teaching and class preparation.
Other:
- Complete all required training courses assigned to you by Human Resources or the Patel Conservatory.
- The job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this position. Other activities, duties or responsibilities may be necessary at times, and will be communicated to you by your supervisor in the case that a unique situation arises.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experienced as a choir section leader.
- Basic piano skills to assist in teaching single vocal lines.
- Interested in working with young children.
- Excited about teaching and playing music.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Effective prioritization and multitasking skills.
Education and Work Experience:
- A current college student or recent graduate.
- Studying music with an emphasis in voice and/or music education.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for the duration of a rehearsal or performance (up to three hours with breaks). Also, it is often necessary to do some moving of chairs, music stands, and other equipment.
