Compensations: College Credit available - This position is non-paid.
Status: Part-time seasonal
Start Date: April 2025 (flexible with academic schedule)
End Date: Early September 2025 (flexible with academic schedule)
Hours Expected to Work: Hours differ day to day, depending on gameday vs non-gameday
Job Description:
The Media Relations Department handles outgoing communications (press releases, media advisories, media guides, game notes, game recaps), as well as incoming media requests (interviews, credentials, photo/information requests, etc.). The Department also plays a key role in the Dash's digital marketing efforts, contributing to the team website, gameday program, and social media platforms. The intern in this position will assist in any and all media relations efforts. This internship is designed to jumpstart the career of anyone eager to gain meaningful experience in the field of baseball media relations. Previous candidates have gone on to work in MLB (Major League Baseball), NHL (National Hockey League) and other professional sports.

All new hires in the Winston-Salem Marketing department will be thoroughly trained in all job duties and responsibilities. You will receive training and skills needed to be successful with the Winston-Salem Dash or any other professional team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in writing press releases and game recaps
- Assist in updating daily game notes
- Contribute writing content to the Dash's nightly gameday program
- Clip and compile audio and video highlights for each Dash home game and away games as needed
- Assist in media relations projects including team baseball cards
- Assist in the distribution of gameday materials to media, scouts and visiting broadcasters
- Help maintain an organized and professional press box
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays during the Dash's 2025 season
- Strong knowledge of baseball is a must
- Experience in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office and Adobe Audition/Premiere (or similar video/audio editing software)
- Previous experience working in sports is a plus
- Applicant should be a self-starter who is eager to execute each task received and exceed expectations
