PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The seasonal Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining content on the Camp Tekakwitha website and social media outlets. The goal is to deliver excellent digital resources and meaningful communication that both fosters and is built upon strong in-person relationships. The ideal candidate will know how to create content for a variety of audiences in a mixed media digital environment. By ensuring all digital content is accurate, appealing, engaging, and easy to navigate, the Social Media Specialist will play a key role in raising the visibility of camp, furthering its mission, and increasing engagement among target audiences.

As a member of the lead team, this individual is expected to be a role model and set a standard of excellence for camp counselors, kitchen aides, and counselors in training. While employed at Camp Tekakwitha, this individual must follow the most basic doctrine of the Catholic Church to align with the mission/vision of the Diocese of Green Bay. The ideal candidates will be an example of a Missionary Disciple with a servant heart.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Applicant must be 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Have a minimum of 6 months of experience as a web content/social media paraprofessional in a fast-paced environment with content creation, distribution, maintenance, and evaluation responsibilities.
  • Must be first aid/CPR certified (or willing to be trained).
  • Understanding of the mission/vision of Camp Tekakwitha.
  • Understanding of Catholic Church teachings and practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of widely used social networks, social analytics, social content management tools, online marketing channels and techniques.
  • Demonstrate skill in the art of photography as well as the process of editing, uploading, and formatting photos for sharing.
  • Demonstrate adequate knowledge of content management, web design and analytics.
  • Excellence in various aspects of mixed media management and content creation including but not limited to content creation within Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Moderate user-generated content in line with organizational culture and policies.
  • Identify organizational and audience needs to develop responsive, personal content.
  • Create, promote, launch, manage, and evaluate multichannel digital media promotions.
