QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); or obtain an associate's degree (or higher); or a passing score of 460 on the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment; or have College Board's SAT score of at least 480 on evidence-based reading and writing and a 530 on math.
  • Basic clerical skills including filing, keyboarding, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise, facilitate mini lessons, and appear relaxed with large groups of students.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Desire to help all students.
  • Knowledge of computer software preferred.
  • Exhibit emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for meeting the requirements of the position.

DUTIES:
  • Provide a warm and inviting environment for library use by providing student discipline, a friendly attitude, and an inviting decor.
  • Check books in and out for students, reshelve books, and dust.
  • Help students and teachers locate materials, whether print, audio/visual, or digital.
  • Oversee computer labs by keeping students on task and providing low level support for students.
  • Process new books.
  • Process and manage textbook distribution.
  • Keep books in good repair.
  • Participate in end-of-the-year inventory.
  • Laminate classroom materials for teachers.
  • Record and collect fines.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Librarian or School Principal.

SALARY: $12.51 - $16.57 per hour, commensurate with experience, per DPA Contract
