Job Summary:

The Media Relations Seasonal Assistant is responsible for assisting the Communications department to support the goals of growing the teams brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with many areas of department operations to support the goal of growing the Detroit Tigers brand.
  • Provide assistance in credentialing the media for games, as well as compiling daily Tigers and National clips for distribution.
  • Assist in maintaining press box and miscellaneous needs of our broadcasters, media and Tigers executives.
  • Produce the official scorecard prior to each series, in addition to authoring a portion of the post-game notes.
  • Assist with production of Tigers Magazine, the official gameday publication of the Tigers
  • Distribute daily game information (game notes, lineup sheet, stat packs, postgame notes).
  • Provide assistance with photo shoots and other media crews stationed in the ballpark.
  • Assist with any miscellaneous statistical and research projects as needed.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be at least a college senior or recent graduate (within 6 months).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of baseball with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be available full-time beginning by Opening Day.
  • Willing to work longs hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Adobe InDesign, StatsPass and social media experience preferred.
  • Experience working with publications a plus .
