KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous office writing and/or mentoring experience is required.
The WDFWS is scheduled to work 5-10 hours per week, depending upon demand; these hours are flexible and can be arranged with the Department Chair.
The Department Chair or other faculty will provide necessary training and support to the WDWS.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires working at a computer, typing, sitting, and standing.
This position requires use of office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, copiers, adding machines, fax machines, and scanners.

- Mentor writing students in basic writing skills (sentence structure, paragraphing, basic organization, etc.)
- Mentor writing students in study skills like time management and prioritization;
- Assist to Creative Writing Program, the Club and Otolith
- Serve as an embedded mentor in a writing classroom; and
- Other duties as assigned (research, copying, scanning, etc.)

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE:
- Speaking and writing proficiently in the English language are required.
- The person needs to be a self-starter, self-directed, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task.
- Strong organizational, phone and writing skills are required.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and web are preferred.
