JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Graphic Designer

Position Summary:

Our growing organization is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter graphic designer with a positive outlook to join our Operations team in a fast-paced and friendly environment.

The Graphic Designer will support the organization in the design and creation of the organization’s graphics, website, virtual presence, and marketing. From concept through execution, this candidate will support our company culture by bringing our brand to life and keeping it consistent across all our various touchpoints.

The role will work closely with all departments, including marketing and content management, to ensure we are properly communicating the brand to our various stakeholders and target audiences.

The successful candidate may be asked to provide a portfolio that demonstrates their creativity and originality.

Clearance Eligibility: Must be able to pass a State and Federal criminal background check, to possibly include a credit check.

Salary: The salary offered will depend on education, certifications, length and relevance of work history, and professional experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Graphic Designer will support the creation, design, and production of company brand, web administration, and content.

  • Collaborate with management, brand management, front-end developers, marketing, and other departments to support website design and content marketing (social media assets, digital and print assets, etc.).
  • Bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using expertise and an eye for great design.
  • Scope and create templates for departments to be more efficient in posting on social media, email, and other channels.
  • Create infographics, diagrams, and visual aids to simplify complex cybersecurity concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain brand consistency by working with the marketing department and other stakeholders to build and maintain brand integrity throughout all digital/printed material.
  • Illustrate concepts by designing fresh examples of art arrangement, size, type size, and style and submitting them for approval.
  • Translate organizational needs and branding strategies into design strategies.
  • Design visual concepts using graphic design tools, including design software.
  • Select colors, fonts, photographs, layouts, and other design elements to communicate creative concepts.
  • Assist in the creation of UI/UX assets for digital products and platforms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, cybersecurity themes, and design best practices to produce relevant and innovative designs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Articulate and pitch design concepts to management staff and organizational departments.
  • Illustrate concepts by designing rough layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Obtain approval of the concept by submitting a rough layout for approval.
  • Prepare finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment and coordinating purchases from vendors.
  • Prepare the final layout by marking and pasting up the finished copy and art.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform retouching and manipulation of images.
  • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software.
  • Successfully manage time, workflow, and schedule to meet strict and sometimes aggressive deadlines.
  • Open and receptive to design critique but also able to represent their work and stand up for the design they believe in.
  • Liaising between the marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Resourceful: able to problem solve and find multiple design solutions, especially under narrow parameters and/or budget restraints.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in the technology or cybersecurity sector.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, including digital and print media.

Background and Experience:

  • Proven work experience as a graphic designer.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with tools like Figma or Sketch.
  • Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging visuals.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and terminology is a plus.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics or video editing software is an advantage.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • General office environment. Work is generally sedentary but may require movement about the office for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible.
  • Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
  • Occasional movement of small articles up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Continually operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Occasionally required to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Continually required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
