Position Purpose/Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates and supervises general maintenance employees who provide upkeep of industrial blending and filling specific equipment and, such as conveyor systems, labelers, box erectors, glue systems and palletizer machinery. Oversees all installation, dismantling, repair, reassembling, and machinery movement.

Direct Reports Varies, usually between 5 - 10

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities (minimum)

Education: Technical Degree in mechanics or equivalent work experience specific to industrial equipment.

Experience (years and topics): Must have 5 - 7 years of combined experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Mechanic Maintenance Coordinator, Blending and Filling experience highly preferred. Progressive leadership experience providing effective mentorship and coaching to motivate employees and promote positive team building. Mechanical Skills including: Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Pumps, Bearings, Chains and Belting, Conveying Systems, Valves and Mechanical Troubleshooting. Electrical Skills including: Basic Electricity, Volt Meter and Amp Probe, AC/DC Motors and Control Systems, Basic Schematic Reading, Basic PLC Knowledge and Electrical Troubleshooting. Machine Shop Skills including: Welding, Fabrication and excellent abilities with all standard maintenance tools and shop equipment Machine Experience including: MRM/Elgin, Cozzoli, Kapsall, Oden, and Kalish liquid fillers, Resina, and Kapsall automatic cappers Self -directed initiative to achieve results, think creatively, work efficiently and competently. Strong mathematical abilities. Exceptional attention to detail in communication, data integrity, timeliness, and accuracy. Ability to address conflict and resolve well. Demonstrates and promotes personal accountability amongst team members.

Technology/Software (years): Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications Skills using Maintenance tracking software that include, but not limited to preventative maintenance, parts inventory and service history. Maintenance Pro currently used at each facility location.

Communication: Ability to give and receive constructive feedback. Can present information that is understood by to others without a mechanical competency. Knows how to respond professionally to concerns and criticisms so as to strengthen trust and relationships. Proficiency to prepare written messages, reports, and presentations to productively share intended information to a diverse audience. Practices active listening.

Physical Capabilities

Strength (lifting, dexterity, repetitive motion): Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Movement (standing, stopping, sitting, crouching, crawling): Regularly stands; walks; sits; uses hands to type, grasp/handle, or reach with hands and arms. May need to stoop, kneel or crouch.

Hearing (loud noise tolerance, quiet work area, public speaking, receive work direction): Reasonable capacity so as to accept and provide work direction or training in a loud, busy environment.

Vision (judge distance, read signs, extended computer work, identify details): Utilizes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. Oversee day to day operations of the Maintenance department tasks & employees, including training and performance metrics. Supervises and coordinates worker’s activities including machinery up, installation, repair, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance, and fabricating metal parts and tools. Using acquired knowledge and practice for observing machinery, provides guidance to malfunction diagnosis and repair options. Ensures equipment reliability to maximize production line productivity. Implements process enhancements to improve changeover efficiency. Prioritizes work requests for the team. Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-going outcome that is measurable (minimum of 3) Meets service levels consistently; preferable to exceed expectations. Communicates timely and to the appropriate personnel with regards to any information about meeting work assignments as directed or as inferred to be successful. Uses materials, tools, and resources safely, appropriately and with value considerations, and conducts work activities in a safe manner with forethought to best actions rooted in safety for oneself and others. Effectively mentors, coaches, counsels Setup technicians and Maintenance Mechanics to improve abilities and service level within the department Ensures the Preventative Maintenance program is compliant with KPI metric of zero overdue PM’s. Improves productivity efficiency aligned with financial targets by coordinating maintenance activities appropriately.
