UX Designer

LMI is seeking a UX Designer in the Washington, DC area to join ourcutting-edge generative AI (GenAI) platform,LIGER, created by our technology studio, LMIForge. LIGER harnesses the power of the latest advances in machine learning and Large Language Models to provide secure, private, and trustworthy GenAI solutions for government.

Collaborate with product owners and the user community to gather and prioritize UX/UI requirements and feedback.
• Lead and execute the design process for web interfaces, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.
• Lead the development and implementation of a design system to create a consistent and user-friendly experience.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers and data scientists to ensure alignment within the implementation and feasibility of designs prior to deployment.
• Engage with user community and stakeholders prior to, during and after deployment to facilitate usability analysis throughout the design and development process.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in product design or a related field.

• Bachelor's degree in design, user experience, technology, computer science, or related technical discipline.

• Strong understanding and knowledge of UX/UI design principles and best practices, including consistency, simplicity, and usability.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively articulate and defend design ideas to a variety of stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of visual design principles, such as typography, hierarchy, balance, motion, and interaction.

• Experience with information architecture, user journeys, and wireframing.

• Portfolio demonstrating knowledge and understanding of design best practices and methodology, with a focus on real-world case studies.

• Experience with design tools, such as Figma and Adobe CC.

• Ability to grasp technical concepts and apply them effectively to practical solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in design, user experience, technology, computer science, or a related technical discipline.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with a variety of stakeholders, including business end users, solution architects, engineers, and developers.

• Experience working within an Agile Software Development environment.

• Experience working within a product team focused on a data analytics platform.

• Experience in user research, including conducting moderated interviews, user testing, persona creation, information architecture, and workflow creation.

• Previous experience in the government contracting space.

• Experience in web app design.

• Experience working in a start-up environment.
