Job Summary
The Graphic Designer at UMC utilizes creative invention and imagination in both two or three-dimensional art, creates visual concepts. Designs logos and layout designs for print and electronic media including website, magazine, brochures, reports, ads, etc. Understands how to communicate brands visually and effectively.

Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Use creative invention and imagination to translates marketing objectives into clear design strategies. Typically working only from the subject matter or concept for the project.
• Design website, magazine, and brochures for UMC hospital and its affiliates
• Translates marketing objectives into clear design strategies
• Communicates UMC brand visually by using graphic design tools and software
• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary departments and service lines to create two and three dimensional art for UMC hospital(s)
• Negotiate print and design materials on the hospital's behalf
• All other assigned duties related to Graphic Art Design
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field
• +5 years of experience working in graphic design or similar work
Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
N/A
Skills and Abilities
• Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
• Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to communicate and evaluate design choices clearly with minimal input
• Knowledge of print production and purchasing of printing services, including signage
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Daily interaction with other staff within the Marketing department.
Physical Capabilities
Work involves sitting for extended periods of time at a computer. Occasional lifting boxes up to 20lbs. will be required
Environmental/Working Conditions
This position is subject to inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions, not necessarily from temperature changes.
