Job Summary
We are seeking a Structural Designer to join our team! You will be working closely with Engineering personnel to ensure that the structural aspects of a project's 3D model and construction drawing packages are appropriately detailed, accurate, and visually appealing. You will follow company CAD guidelines for all processes, including naming conventions, data storage, and layout standards. The ideal candidate has experience with existing 3D Structural modeling and drawing creation software, excellent communication skills, and works well within a team environment.

Responsibilities 
  • Work with 3rd party engineering companies to prepare detailed designs, drawings, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Accurately model civil and structural elements in 3D design software to reflect real world and conceptual conditions
  • Creating and maintaining multidiscipline support drawings
  • Work closely with other members of the design team as well as design partners to verify accuracy and details
  • Follow all company guidelines for best practices
  • Track all time spent on projects accurately
  • Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis
  • Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
  • Estimate material and production costs for designs
  • Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers
  • Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
Qualifications
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD Structural Detailer, AVEVA PDMS or E3D, Bentley ProSteel, or similar software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work well within a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Interpersonal skills to work within a small team, taking direction from Engineering Personnel
  • Time management skills
The person in this position needs to operate a computer in a stationary position for the majority of their workday while occasionally moving outside the office to examine equipment and piping arrangements. This role will require occasional ascending and descending stairs and ladders to examine mechanical equipment, structural, and piping arrangements.
