DUTIES: This position integrates interior design and architectural concepts with historic preservation. Manage and assist multiple projects at once from concept through completion. This includes SD, DD, specialization of finishes, fixtures, hardware and be able to execute the design intent through construction. Develop Project Schedules coordinated with General Contractors to meet project milestones. Communicate and manage project milestones to design team. Ensure milestones are met. Maintain an organized administrative process through the lifetime of projects that includes coordination and concise communication with all contractor and vendor relationships. Research and source architectural products, materials, interior finishes, fabrics, lighting fixtures and furniture. Work with the design team in the furnishing design and selection process, while designing some of the customized pieces of furniture - this includes supervising the construction of these pieces. Create and deliver presentations for internal and client meetings using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. Develop design concepts with direction from clients, principals, and design team. Draw architectural plans, perform analysis of design and construction systems, design layouts, furniture, and basic construction details in AutoCAD. Produce all necessary architectural drawings, including elevations, plans, sections, RCPs, finely detailed millwork drawings and 3D images using software such as Sketchup, Rhino and Photoshop. Selection and coordination with our team and with Architectural, MEP and Lighting consultants. Organize and coordinate drawing sets with project team consultants. Review plans and layouts or existing architectural historical constructions to ensure adherence to accepted preservation practices, applicable codes, and integrated design. Identify historic preservation issues and construction details that can be preserved and integrated into designs. Improve detailed solutions by knowing how to identify historic construction techniques, styles, and issues. Provide staff training, as needed. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or higher (or foreign educational equivalent) in Interior Design, Historic Preservation, Architecture, or similar design field. Three years of experience in any role involving interior architecture design process from schematic concept development through production and installation (including experience in residential and luxury hospitality design). Advanced knowledge (either via work or coursework) in architectural conservation practices and procedures, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe CS, Rhino, SketchUp, and Enscape. 10% domestic travel required.Email resume to careers@gachotstudios.com - Include Job #P001 on the subject line.
