Summary:
We are seeking an Audio Technician to support our Live Events team and the Production Department. Our full scope of services includes comprehensive AV production solutions for corporate, social, live entertainment, staging, technology solutions and show management. This is a full-time position based in Wixom, Michigan. Nights and weekends are required, and candidates should expect a variable schedule based on show site needs. Some travel may be required.
An Ideal candidate for this role will possess knowledge of audio-visual solutions within the event production industry and a knowledge of event logistics. The ability to work with all aspects of audio systems is required, with a proven track record of successful shows and events in the corporate and entertainment world. While this position is part of the audio department, our perfect candidate will be expected to have experience with crew management and job site leadership skills. Candidate must also be able to successfully interact with clients on site and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Candidate should be “A2” ready. Proper and safe setup, operation, and teardown of audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment is required, along with loading and unloading of company vehicles when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lifting and physical work are required
- Operation of all aspects of audio systems in a live environment
- Provide high quality mixes for all types of events
- Deploy intercom systems
- Manage and program RF microphones, IEM’s, IFB’s, RF comm’s
- Act as a team leader for audio systems on jobsites
- Manage and direct crew to accomplish onsite goals
- Interact with clients and staff in a positive and professional manner to achieve clients’ goals
- Work with shop staff when needed to prep and pack gear for live events
- Maintain equipment in shop when not on show sites
- Continued training and learning of new equipment and workflows
Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience in the corporate AV and events world
- Valid driver’s license
- Familiarity with flying and stacking speaker systems
- Operating wireless microphone systems
- Programming digital intercom systems
- Working knowledge of digital mixing systems, processing, and signal routing
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong ability to collaborate and coordinate
- Professional maturity, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude
- Exceptional communication skills
- Tenacity and ability to “think on your feet” in stressful situations
- Ability to manage a wide variety of projects/demands at one time with quality execution and on time delivery.
Preferred Specific Experience
- Proficient in Shure Wireless systems such as ULXD and Axient
- Proficient in wireless and wired com systems such as, Freespeak, Arcadia and RTS
- Familiarity with Yamaha digital mixing consoles, CL, QL, Rivage, DM series.
