We are seeking a visionary Senior Interior Design Director to join our team and establish a new interior design division within the firm.
Role Overview:
The Senior Interior Design Director will be the inaugural hire for the firm’s interior design team, playing a pivotal role in building and shaping this new division. This individual will set the creative and operational foundation for the interior design services, collaborate closely with architects, clients, and contractors, and ensure the delivery of exceptional design solutions. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong portfolio in high-end residential interiors and a passion for innovative, client-focused design.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Leadership: Define and drive the creative vision for interior design projects in alignment with the firm’s architectural approach. Establish design standards and practices for the new interior design division. Ensure all design solutions meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics.
Team Development: Build and lead the interior design team, starting with hiring key team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. Mentor and guide team members to ensure growth and project success.
Project Management: Oversee all phases of the interior design process, from concept development to installation. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations.
Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences. Present design concepts, materials, and plans to clients with clarity and professionalism.
Collaboration: Work closely with architects and other consultants to ensure cohesive and integrated designs. Coordinate with contractors, fabricators, and vendors to bring designs to life.
Business Development: Contribute to the firm’s growth by identifying new opportunities and building client relationships. Represent the firm at industry events and networking opportunities.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in high-end residential interior design. Proven leadership experience in managing design teams and projects. Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in luxury residential interiors. Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite. In-depth knowledge of materials, furnishings, and design trends. Licensed or certified interior designer preferred.
