Artisan 34 has an opening for a Graphic Designer in our Hazlet, New Jersey office. This role is for a leave coverage and will last 90-120 days.
One of the core responsibilities for this role is production-focused and involves formulating technical files (tech-packs) for bulk printing and overseas production, as well as following formats, guidelines and manuals to create packaging for in-house and private labels. This person must be highly organized, methodical, and capable of managing high volume quantity of projects. You must possess an obsessive eye for detail, a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic. Additionally, this role will be responsible for creating innovative and harmonious packaging, branding, and marketing for our core clients.
Primary Responsibilities: Design new and innovative packaging for all categories of home textiles. Follow packaging guidelines for each customer and brand. Develop templates and specification of new packaging for hand-off to packaging production. Review soft and hard proofs of inserts, labels, and physical prototypes from overseas offices. Provide comments and approvals, coordinating with production timelines for a smooth process Create art files for production as needed and collaborate with production team for the accurate creation of packaging art files. Assist in the creative development of marketing collateral including but not limited to: packaging, catalogs, visual merchandising concepts, invitations and stationary. Assist in the development of new brands – including logos, brand statements and positioning, packaging, and photography style guides. Required Skills: 8 Years Experience Graphic Design: creative concepts, layout/composition, typography, brand development, packaging Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop, Acrobat and general functions of Excel Strong understanding of packaging artwork preparation. This includes the use of dielines, score/folds, proper dimensioning, color/material specifications and special feature call outs, Clear communication and correspondence with factories including proof approval & production schedule follow up. Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on file accuracy, consistency, and quality execution. Understanding of tight deadlines and can multi-task several projects at various stages of development. Ability to work in a fast-paced team-driven environment. Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently, while also seeking support from team as needed. Create and update tech packs from development to production Bring urgent issues to the Manager’s attention for input and direction.
