Day to Day task include:
- Creation of print materials including but not limited to pamphlets, brochures, banners, posters, postcards, invitations, publications
- Development of logos/icons/informational graphics/Illustrations
- Design of presentations (including Microsoft PowerPoint)
- Coordination and design of reports (including the Board's annual report)
- Creation of display materials
- State Fair booth designs
- Culling of web assets (Intranet and Website)
- Development multimedia project assets (including animations and videos)
- Management of print preparation, and assist in the coordination of print job and other promotional giveaway items
- Ensure compliance with the NYS Branding Guidelines
- Management and design of Board recruitment materials
- Management of DEI promotional materials
- Review and adjust translations of design documents
- Ensure ADA-compliancy on all external materials
- Graphic design project documentation and organization
- Research and organization of image archive
- Photo editing
- Create content for social media channels
Requested Qualifications:
- 60 months experience as a graphic designer and/or art director. Apprenticeships qualify as graphic design work experience. In addition, other qualifying experience that can be substituted for graphic design experience: education in graphic design, experience as an illustrator, experience in multimedia (photography, videography, animation, or similar), and experience in digital marketing - including social media.
- 24 months education in an art or design field such as graphic design, art, multimedia production, drawing, painting, illustration, digital design, photography, or communication design.
- 36 months experience designing in Adobe InDesign or similar pagination program.
- 24 months experience editing in Adobe Photoshop and/or creating in Adobe Illustrator, or similar pagination programs.
- 24 months of experience in creating presentations, MS PowerPoint or similar program.
- 24 months of experience in creating presentations, MS Word or similar program.
Work hours and location:
- Full time role with engagement length of 30 months
- Daily work hours: Negotiable daily work hours (strongly prefer starting between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., ending between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.)
- Physical office location: 328 State Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 - First Floor
- Telecommuting options: After an initial 3 months, a possibility of 50% remote work.
