About the Role: Redhorse is seeking a highly skilled UI/UX Designer to join our team and play a pivotal role in advancing data-driven decision-making across the Department of Defense (DoD). You will be integral to the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO), designing and optimizing user experiences for mission-critical applications such as GAMECHANGER, Contract Search, and JBook Search on the Advana platform. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of DoD personnel, contributing to improved national security. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to leverage your UI/UX expertise to make a significant difference in a high-impact environment. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct user research, including user interviews and contextual inquiries, to understand user needs and behaviors. Create wireframes, prototypes, and task flow diagrams to effectively communicate design concepts and solutions. Implement user-centered design principles to deliver intuitive and accessible interfaces for AI and data analytics tools. Utilize user tracking tools and metrics (e.g., Matomo) to analyze application usability and identify areas for improvement. Produce visualizations of user metrics using Qlik and/or Tableau to inform design decisions and demonstrate the impact of UI/UX improvements. Provide subject matter expertise to support Agile development, leveraging iterative methodologies. Translate user research information into actionable user interface requirements and workflows. Rapidly iterate on design prototypes and working applications, contributing to the design, development, and testing of AI/ML tools. Develop mock-up solutions that can be implemented quickly. Test and validate usability, monitoring and reporting metrics, leveraging research and analytics to drive product updates. Support technical activities of end-users, identifying mission goals, desired metrics, data standards, and user workflows. Work with end-users to build and analyze user stories. Identify end-user processes, software, and other mission issues that could be improved using AI. Capture and formulate the final articulation of user needs. Design and prototype specific AI or ML solutions, understanding user needs, behaviors, and motivations. Work closely with Mission and Capability Delivery teams to help determine product goals. Collaborate with team members on user research, customer testing, and iterative feedback loops. Prepare usability test plans and associated wireframes; facilitate test sessions; analyze data; report and present results. Create and document information design concepts and solutions. Make presentations to and interact with end-users. Required Experience/Clearance:

Bachelor's degree plus 7-10 years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 5 years of experience. Experience with usability testing, including preparing test plans and associated wireframes, facilitating test sessions, analyzing data, and reporting and presenting results. Experience with creating and documenting information design concepts and solutions by various means, including wireframes, prototypes, and task flow diagrams. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience making presentations to and interacting with end-users. Prior experience conducting user interviews and contextual inquiries. Experience with user tracking and metrics tooling such as Matomo. Experience with visualization of user metrics using Qlik and/or Tableau.
