Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As an Audio Visual / IT Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful setup, configuration, and maintenance of AV and IT systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and seamless support for clients' collaboration technologies and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in AV systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage IT-related tasks efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support & Maintenance
- Install, configure, and maintain audio, video, and IT equipment, including displays, conferencing systems, microphones, and networking devices.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on AV and IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with AV/IT equipment in a timely and professional manner.
Event & Project Support
- Provide on-site support for meetings, events, and conferences, ensuring all AV and IT systems are functioning as expected.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand technical requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Assist with IT-related tasks, such as configuring network connectivity and deploying software updates.
Collaboration & Training
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, engineering, and client support, to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Educate end-users on operating AV and IT systems effectively and provide training when necessary.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Document technical issues and resolutions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide detailed reports to stakeholders on system performance and areas for improvement.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Proven experience in audio-visual and IT support roles, preferably in corporate or enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of AV systems, including conferencing solutions (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex).
- Familiarity with IT networking basics, including IP addressing, cabling, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with AV control systems, such as Crestron, Extron, or AMX.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working in various physical environments, including server rooms, conference spaces, and event venues.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or equivalent are a plus.
- Experience with enterprise IT systems, including hardware and software deployment.
- Familiarity with project management tools and software.
- Knowledge of video production, streaming, and live event technologies.
