Job Title: Marine Designer

Job Description

  • Develops Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings.

  • Works closely with design originators, preparing drawings or computer models of unusual, complex, or original designs that require a high degree of precision.

  • Assures that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawings produced.

  • Exercises independent judgment in selecting/interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent.

  • Although working primarily as a drafter, may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience

  • 2-3 years of solid experience with AutoCAD Software.

  • Able to accurately obtain mechanical measurements using calipers, micrometers, radius gauges, etc.

  • Able to visualize and portray complex design features.

  • Able to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.

  • Able to interpret and draft electrical wiring schematics.

  • Strong communication skills, and good PC skills

Job Type

This is a 12 month contract to hire role. During your time as an Actalent Consultant, we offer benefits, accrued PTO, and Holiday pay.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Fort Monroe, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00
